Kathleen graduated law school from South Texas College of Law in May of 2023 and received her Texas Bar license in October of 2023.  During law school, she worked for the Harris County Public Defender’s Office in their Post-Conviction Unit where she worked on several cases involving police misconduct and forensic issues, including DNA mixtures, fingerprints, and forensic analyst misconduct and managed the Unit’s Prison Law Library Project, which provided post-conviction case review to inmates.

Kathleen was a member of South Texas’ Advanced Appellate Advocacy Program, and competed in multiple oral argument competitions as a brief writer and oralist.  She was also involved in South Texas’ Pro Bono Program and provided over 50 service hours to Child Advocates in her last year of law school.  After graduating, Kathleen clerked for the Honorable Judge David C. Newell at the Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Texas.

Prior to law school, Kathleen received her M.A. from New York University in Agriculture and Food Policy and her B.A. from City University of New York, Hunter College in Creative Writing and Studio Art.  In her free time, she enjoys buying too many books that she’ll never read, cooking her way through cookbooks, traveling to new places, and visiting art museums.  Kathleen is proud to join the Crossroads Defenders team and looks forward to getting to know all the wonderful people of the Crossroads area.
